There is no booking engine behind this page, and there will not be one until a journey is genuinely confirmed. What there is: a short form, three different routes depending on why you are here, and an email address that reaches a human being within two working days.

The journey

Which journey or region interests you?

Pick a journey, a region, or “not decided” — any of them is fine.

How many of you? Including yourself. Shared journeys take 8 to 12 in total.

An approximate number is fine.

Preferred travel window First departures are planned from spring 2027.

We avoid July and August across most of these regions. It is not a rule; it is the heat.

Anything else we should know? Mobility, dietary needs, a subject you care about, a town your family is from, a question about the costing — all useful.

Even one line helps us write a useful reply.

Send me the journey letter — roughly six emails a year, each one about a route we are contracting or something we have learned. No countdowns, no last-minute offers, and you can stop it in one click.

We reply within two working days. Your details are used to answer you and, if you tick the box, to send the letter — nothing else, and never passed on.

Use the form for any of them — but here is what happens on the other side, and the direct address if you would rather not fill anything in.

Travellers

You want a seat on one of the six. Tell us which, and roughly when. You go on the list for that route, and you hear the moment it is confirmed — before it is advertised anywhere. No deposit is taken and nothing is held.

Private & institutional departures

A family taking three generations back to a home town. A group of friends who want the Andalusia route in October. A university alumni office, a museum members’ programme, a foundation. You get a written proposal with the itinerary, the leader we would appoint, and the full costing — not a brochure.

Guides, hosts and houses

If you guide in these regions, run a guesthouse, cook, or work a craft we would want travellers to sit down with — write. We contract directly, we pay in local currency on terms you agree, and your name goes on the itinerary. We are actively building the first season and reading everything that arrives.

After you press send

What actually happens next

No autoresponder sequence, no sales call. This is the whole process, and it is short because there is not much to sell yet.

It arrives in one inbox. The form goes to a single address that two people read. Nothing is routed through a sales tool and nothing scores you as a lead.
A person replies within two working days. If it takes longer than that, something has gone wrong and you should chase us at hello@rihlaya.com.
The reply is specific. Where the journey you asked about has got to, what is still unsigned, and an honest date by which we expect to know. If we cannot answer something, we say so rather than filling the gap.
You go on the list for that route — and only that route. When it is confirmed, you hear first, with the leader named, the houses listed and the costing published. Registering is not a booking and takes no deposit.
You can leave at any point. One line by email removes you from everything, and we delete what we hold.

We work European hours, Monday to Friday. A message sent on Friday evening is answered early the following week, not at midnight to look keen.

Straight about what we are

Rihlaya is a pre-launch company. No journey has departed, no traveller has paid us, and the first season is being contracted now. Nothing on this site is a booking, and no price here is a live quotation until it appears on a confirmed journey page with the leader and the houses named.

Client money bonding is being put in place before any deposit is taken. When it is, the details will be published here rather than buried in terms.
